Small Steps for Achieving Your Financial Goals
- Brainstorm 10 (small)
money dreams that you want
to achieve this year. Then
choose two or three dreams
and figure out what your
first step should be to achieve
that dream.
- Pick an attribute
you aspire to. Make this
a goal by visualizing and
vocalizing it. Say, “I
am feeling more _________
each day”.
Say this affirmation 10 times
in the morning and 10 times
at night. This is the secret
behind Money Attraction Affirmations
that help bring prosperity
into your life.
- Educate yourself.
Answer the Money
Truth and Dreams questionnaire.
Look at the questions that
you answered with an "A"
(Money Star-ter). Pick two
or three areas you would
like to improve on, and pick
one or two small steps you
can do in 15 minutes or less.
(You can do anything for
15 minutes!) Focus on these
areas, and later you can
work on the others. You can’t
do everything all at once.
- Do something every day. At the Money Club website, you will find three Small Steps you can choose from each day. These steps take only five, ten or fifteen minutes to do (and you can do anything for fifteen minutes.) Small steps lead to big success.
Visualize your life
- Create a timeline of
your financial history, starting
with your first job or entrepreneurial
endeavor. List your childhood
lemonade stand, college stint
at the local bookstore, and
first “real” job.
Include any financial milestones
or setbacks, such as a career
change, bankruptcy, or inheritance.
Charting your money history
over time will help you to
see where you’ve been
and how it may be influencing
where you are going.
- Imagine your life as you
would like to see it ten
years from now. Where will
you live? What work will
you do? What will you own?
Cut pictures out of magazines
to make a Dream Collage.
Put this Dream Collage in
a place where you see it
daily, and use it as the
starting point to develop
specific financial goals.
- Visualize and vocalize
your goals. Say, “I
am…” and then
the goal of your choice.
I am getting a promotion.
I am taking a vacation to
Europe. I am contributing
more to my 401(k). Say these
affirmations 10 times in
the morning and 10 times
at night. This is the secret
behind Money
Attraction Affirmations.
- Write a paragraph describing
your idea of “the good
life”. Where do you
live? What do you do? Who
are you with? What does your
day look like?
- Take 15 minutes to focus
on what is important, not
what is urgent. What is the
most important direction
for your life right now?
Where are you going? What
builds the most value for
yourself and the ones you
love?
- Write down what you want
to be known for at the end
of your life. Are you working
on that right now? How could
you step up the pace?
- Visualize
how you would like your life
to change over the next ten
years. Then, use this visualization
as the starting point to
develop specific financial
goals. Would you like to
go back to school? Start
a business? Buy a house?
Use your dreams to motivate
yourself to get your financial
house in order.
- Try a different
route to work and go to a
different place for lunch
(or brown bag it or exercise
during lunch). Shake up your
daily routine so you can
see more of your options.
- Think about what matters most to you and how you can use your money better in the future to bring you more pleasure, joy and love.
